MY DAY!
BY the time the bride was ready to walk down the aisle the guests had heard the same piece of music at least three times — I was seven minutes late. To add insult to injury,
the guests were then locked in the church for 10 minutes at the end of the service, thanks to the vicar. He had agreed to hold
quickly. The whole thing seemed unreal, it was happening to someone else. In fact it was not until
we saw the wedding video two weeks later that we could accept that it was us. We did get married! The worst thing of all
everyone back while the bridal party made a quick getaway. We wanted a few minutes’ peace and quiet before the reception got into full swing. The wedding was a
was driving away from the reception. It suddenly hit me that although I had set out to talk to every one th e re , AND r e member every single second, I had failed on both counts. I wanted to go back and
great success. But it was certainly not what I had expected. It was better, much better. I expected to fall into a
dead faint at the altar, if I got that far. 1 was ter rified at the thought of ail those people staring at me and then of course there was the question: “What if I change my mind?” But take it from me

parents for giving me the most fantastic day of my life and I wanted to go back and help clear up! But it was too late, it was all over. So now my advice to
