Whalley up against it

Ramsbottom Cup 1st round: Read 164, Whalley 117

WHALLEY bowed out of the Ramsbottom Cup to Read when their rain-affected game a week last Sunday was con tinued on Tuesday. Read were 164 all out' before

rain postponed the game. The league ruling meant that

the game had to be played within a time limit, and Wnal- ley struggled because they could only field five players, others having previous commit ments. Despite this handicap, they

managed 117 runs and went out of the cup gallantly.
