PADIHAM gave Clitheroe a sporting chance by declaring at 206 for 3 -and although the Chatburn Road side took up the challenge they ended the day on the verge of defeat and with only one point.
Padiham skipper, won the toss and • elected to bat. This was a bold move in view of the league rules which favour sides batting second. The move paid off.
