Clitheroe Advertiser and Times, March 11th, 19S2 17 for Clitheroe Clitheroe 3, Wren Rovers 3

CLITHEROE fought back bravely after falling three goals behind in the first half-hour to earn a share of the points and keep alive their championship hopes.

Clitheroe w e r e sent reel ing b y tw o g o a ls in a minute from the reigning champions, who are them selves lo oking fa v ou r i te s to retain the title.

Tim Wrennall and Peter Roach were the men on target

just after the quarter hour and in the 28th minute, Rovers’ leading scorer Norman Owers added a third. But Clitheroe came back strongly and just to prove that

all was certainly not lost, Ronnie Drugan pulled one back after 3(5 minutes, putting a low shot beyond the reach of keeper David Roach after a memorable and determined solo run which took in three quar ters of the length of the pitch. The scoreline remained un

AFTER tKeir shock exit from the Aitken Shield, West Brad ford regained their pride with a fine win over the Marsden Di vision leaders.

West Bradford were well on

When Ray Howard made it

hopes of being championship contenders but the villagers

earned credit • for a spirited rearguard action against the odds.
