AN auction at Clitheroe’s Trinity Schoolroom was an “unqualified success’, raising £600 for the Sun day School restoration fund.

More than 150 people

went along and helped boost the fund by bidding for a vast array of items, which ranged from soft toys to cutlery. and even television sets.

All the items had been

donated and restoration fund committee member Mr Roland Hailwood thanked everyone who supported the event. Au ctioneer was. Mr Ian Lloyd, of Mortimer, Gorse and Ross, Kerr and Woodward. -

ction take the total raised for the fund, so far to more than, £5,000: and a number o f .; fund-rraising

events are lined up for the next few months, in cluding an event at the

fending, said Townson (24) of Greenfield Avenue, had lost 280 sheep, valued at about £6,000, during the bad winter.

The reason he had not

buried the 30 sheep was that, in the past, his in surance company would, not meet a claim because he had buried the ani mals. Unfortunately the claim was not met this time because the animals had died on his own land.

A JUDO demonstration and coffee evening at Trinity Sports Centre at tracted 50 people and raised about £30 towards sports centre funds.

The demonstration was

given by young members of Trinity’s o\Vn judo club,

along with representa tives of the Hyndburn Judo Club. The Trinity judo en

thusiasts, led by coach Mr Paul Vinnye, meet every Wednesday and new members are always wel come. Sessions for the younger ones begin at 7-

15 p.m. and for the older members an hour later.

Pictured demonstrating
