THERE was a touch of disco fever in the St John Ambulance Hall, Clitheroe, on Saturday, when the Ribble Valley Rotaract Club organised a dance.- About 70 teenagers attended and danced the night away to the sound of the Black Cat disco. The £30 proceeds are for charity.

ON a brief visit to Lanca­ shire from America, the Madrigal Singers, of Il­ linois State University, were given a civic recep­ tion by Ribble Valley Mayor Coun. John Walm- sley and Mrs Walmsley.


The party were shown


the council chamber and told the history of the place. In thanks, the choir, directed by Dr John Ferrell, sang a madrigal.


In the evening the


Mayor and Mayoress atT tended a concert by the Americans in Whalley Methodist Church.


Afterwards, at an infor­


mal ceremony in the church hall, the Mayor presented Dr Ferrell with a Pendle witch souvenir and a Ribble Valley coat of arms . plaque for the Mayor of Normal, Illinois.
