large amount of silver and plate and at some stage silver realised £38 per' ounce. Highest price of the day


was shared by a walnut writing bureau and a set of Hepplewhite-style chairs at £1,700. A 116 oz. silver tray made £1,600 and a small Japanese ivory figure a few inches high was knocked down for £800. A set of sabre-legged
