Miss Julia Ann Sanderson was married at SS Michaei and John’s RC Church, Clitheroe, on Saturday, to Mr Duncan Twisse. The bride, is the only
daughter of Mr and Mrs J. Sanderson, of Wilson Street. The bridegroom, a panel

Worked on CWS farm
A FORMER farm worker, Mr Richard Preston, of Monk Street, Clitheroe, has died at the age of 67. Mr Preston was born in
Goosnargh and moved to Chipping on his marriage. He also lived for a time at Chaigley and Mitton, where he worked on the CWS farm.
About 15 years ago he
moved to Clitheroe and began work for Tarmac as a crusher operator. He
retired due to ill-health in 1975. Mr P r e s to n ’s main
hobby was motoring. The funeral service and
cremation took place at Pleasington Friday. Mr Preston leaves a wife Mar garet, a son William, who lives at Chipping, and a
daughter, Mrs Lilian Carefoot, of Preston.
