CALDER House’s ability at baton changes was a major factor in making them winners of Ribbles- dale School’s sports day. At the start, of the relay
events they trailed Pendle by one point, but they grabbed three outright firsts and were joint win ners in another of the remaining five races. '
They finished clear champions with 367 points. Hodder also did well in the relays and their total of 343 points pushed Pendle (341) into third place.
Kemple, who nave won the sports for the previous
three years, came down to earth with a bump, being wooden spoonists with 305 points. The event, held at
Church Meadow, was organised by Mr Tony Scott.
