M A Y O R ’S S U N D A Y JUNE 17th, 1979


The Worshipful the Mayor, Councillor R. P. Ains­


worth, proposes to attend Divine Service at Trinity Methodist Church, Clitheroe, on Sunday morning, the 17th of June, and trusts he may be accompanied in procession to the Church by residents and in particu­ lar by those serving in a public capacity or in various social and welfare organisations in the town. Service commences at 10-30 a.m.


The arrangements are as follows— (1) All organisations participating should be assembled in Church Street by 10 a.m. prompt. Personnel (except the Mayor's party as mentioned below should report to the Police Officers

(2) Uniforms, armlets, badges or other distinguishing marks should be worn; former Mayors are reminded that it is customary lor medallions lo be worn on this occasion:


(3) Councillors, Magistrates and Ladies and Gentlemen of Ihe town should assemble at the Town Hall. The Mayor will receive


at 9-45 a.m.


(4) The route lor the procession will be: Market Place, Castle Street, Parson Lane. On reaching the entrance to the Church the procession will open out on each side of the road and allow the Mayor and his party to pass through; the Band to go past the entrance and (ace about;


(5) On the termination of the service the procession will be reformed and accompany the Mayor back to the Town Hall where it will open out again, allow Ihe Mayor and his party to pass through, and then disperse.


The Mayor trusts the various individuals and organisations will support him on this occasion.


As there is Church of England parade assembling in Church Street at 9-45 a.m. will organisations and individuals who are attending the Mayor’s Sunday assemble immediately after this party has moved off.
