THE Kibble Valley Sports Council is hoping to undertake a survey of all the sporting, recreational and voluntary bodies within the area. It -wants to find out what fatalities are available to them and, once the evidence is gathered, look for possible improvements. Committee member Mr Mr Lee would like to see

interest for them to take on such a project.” The school with the best report could be given a trophy

supported the findings of a council sub-committee, which has expressed total opposition to further major change in local government structure. It reconunended that the council oppose devolution of power to Scotland and Wales or to English regions. The prob lems facing the UK were such, it fell, that fragmenta tion would only lead to greater difficulty in dealing with them. Councillors who had sent
observations to the sub committee were thanked at Tuesday’s meeting by Ckiun. Bill Fleming (Billington), chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee.
Dismissed
AN appeal against Ribble Valley Council refusal of permission for a house and garage at Grunsagill Bridge, ’Tosside, has been dismissed by the Department of the Environment, members were told at Tuesday’s meeting.
