WITH economy, reliability and smart looks the watchwords, it is small wonder that Honda cars are very firmly established among the world’s top sellers. A n d now, with the
appointment of Clitheroe’s Greenacre Garage as an offi cial Honda dealer, local motorists have a golden opportunity to take a closer look at these impressive vehicles.'
Awarded the franchise only a few weeks ago, the

Garage owner Mr Philip •s / I
Pozzi has not taken this important step without a gi’eat deal of forethought, as he explained this weelc.
Conclusion For the past two years,
Mr Pozzi has been inves tigating every major make of car, Bntish and foreign,, before deciding which deal- ei-ship to go for.
And his conclusion is that X U
ROME-BORN Mr Gianfdice Pozzi — known to most people as Philip — first worked for his father’s agricultural' machinery business in Italy, and later trained with Fiat and Alfa Romeo. Coming to this country 22 years ago, he set up in business on his own account in Greenacre Street. The site he took over contained a variety of buildings
in various states of repair, including some shops and an old stable. But ■ gradually Mr Pozzi fashioned the present premises. “We did that by renovating half the existing buildings and demolishing the 'rest,’’ he explained. As the buildings took shape, his staff grew until it reached its present total of 10.
Honda represents the best buy from every point of view. “These cars are cheap to purchase and economical to run,” he said. “They have better finishes and more accessories than comparable cars in other manufacturers’ ranges.”
The groundwork didn’t
end with Mr Pozzi’s decision to plump f o r H onda, h ow e v e r . T h e re then fo llow ed 12 months of negotiation with the firm, d u r in g w h ich Honda r e p r e s e n ta t iv e s made

TO coincide with his Honda venture Mr Pozzi has taken on a new member o f staff. The newcomer is salesman Mr Ron Woods, o f Rishton, who describes Hondas as a “ breed apart.” In the business for 10 years, Mr Woods says: “They are very strong cars. I am keen on rallying and am seriously considering using a Honda for this purpose.
THERE’S no problem when tl comes to spares for Hondas. As an official dealer, Mr Pozzi is obliged to stock a range of £7,000 worth of spare parts, though the chances are that some will never be used, so reliable are the cars.
A special new stores department has been set up at the
garage to deal with Honda parts and several of Mr Pozzi’s 10-slrong staff are to attend courses that will familiarise them with every aspect of the marque.

fan allows the engine to reach its optimum working temperature quickly. An
•automatic fuel mixture pre warming device ensures that the mixture is supplied to each cylinder at a constant temperature for cleaner, ■more economical power. ■ The engine, which has an
overhead camshaft and hemispherical combustion chambers, is exceptionally flexible so you can idle along in high gear at low speeds and still have quick pickup and brisk acceleration. Front wheel drive, is a
gi-eat aid to dnving stability, especially on poor roads and sn ow and ic e -c o v e r e d surfaces. 'With the weight of the front-mounted engine over the driving wheels, the possibility of tyre-spinning or skids due to braking is reduced.
