NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN in acordance with the requrre- menfa of Section 87 and the Tenth Schedule of the Highways Acf, 1959, that if is the intention of the Lancashire County (Coun­


cil, as Highway Authority, to determine whether if is expe­ dient to provide a by-pass on land adjacent to the Class III Road No. C.477 (Trough Road) at Syke s Farm, Trough of Bowland, at the point more particularly described in the Schedule hereto, which said land does not form part of the highway and does not belong to the County Council as Highway Authority. The purpose of the proposed by-pass is to make effe<ttive the cattle grid which it is proposed to construct in the highway at the point described in the Schedule hereto. A copy of this Notice and a plan show­ ing the position of the proposed cattle grid and by-pass is depo­ sited for inspection at the offices of the Ribble Valley Borough Council. The Castle, Clitheroe. and can be inspected at all reasonable hours without payment.


Any person wishing to make representations with regard to the proposed by-pass should write to the Chief Executive/ Clerk of the County Council, County Hall. Preston, on or before 31st March, 1977, giving particulars of the grounds of objection.
