THE throbbing "Sound of Light” disco provided the music for a barbecue and dance in aid of Downham Village Hall Committee. Held at Green Lane Farm, home of Mr Alan Spcnslcy, it is the second such event in successive years. About 400 people were there to

enjoy the dancing and the tasty barbecue of steak, sausages, rolls, crisps, and all the trimmings. The food was cooked and served by committee members. The organisers managed to sell all the tickets and hope to raise about £300 towards the upkeep of the hall.
