the court that a police officer saw Mrs Harper’s car positioned to make a right turn from Mitton Road into King Street, Whalley. She was l-aning against the car window and appeared to be asleep. But she then drove slowly into King Street and stopped suddenly some distance from the side of the road.
Asked to take a breath
test she replied: “ I'm nut giving one.” She was arrested, and later took a breath test at Great Har wood police station. A blood test showed that she hod 235mg. of alcohol in 100ml. of blood — 155mg. above the legal limit.
