A WEAVER in local mills for most of her life, Mrs Lucy Eccles, of Queen’s Close, Clitheroe, has died in Blackburn Royal Infirmary, aged 73.

Sheep-chasing dog destroyed
A GOLDEN labrador owned by a Barrow man chased 40 lambing sheep across two fields, Clitheroe magistrates were told. The dog's owner, Peter
Dawson Graveson (35), of Coekerhill Terrace, was fined £10 for owning a dog which worried sheep on agricul tural land, and a further £5
for keeping a dog without a licence. A summons of failing to
keep a dangerous dog under control was withdrawn when Insp. T. J. Sumner told the court that the dog had since been destroyed.
