Cliflicroc Reserves should have had (wo games in the West Lancashire League iast week, but Rawtcnstall, their opponents on Saturday, failed to turn
up at Shaw Bridge and the game was postponed. On tho Wednesday they had a home fixture against Post Greyhounds and were
beaten 4—3 despite a spirited fight-back which was conducted without goalkeeper, John McGuire, who had been taken to the Infirmary after being kicked on the head.
The defence seemed all at sea in the oarly stages and conceded two quick goals. Post
Greyhounds continued to dominate for a while and built up a 4—2 lead. They reckoned, however, without the enthusiasm of the young Clithcroe players, who managed to pull one goal back.
