Now that the above plant is in operation, the Council are anxious that as much salvage is recovered from the picking belt as possible. Householders can assist in this respect, if newspapers, periodicals, wrapping paper, and cardboard are bundled together, and tied with string, and so far as possible kept clean and dry whilst awaiting collection.
With such assistance, it will be possible to recover the maximum amount of saleable salvage, the income of which will go a long way to offset the cost of operating the plant.
