stone bay once graced the dwelling of the Abbot of Sawley. A stone slab built into the stone wall of Worston Hall was at one time the top stone of the gateway of Sawley Abbey, and has on it the date ol erection 1577 and the initials R.G. The stone pictured, has oil it the date 1692 and the initials L.S.H. It is not known where the stone came from, but has been in its present position for many years.
