DESPITE a small-scale invasion of Clitlieroe, on Saturday, by young people from a wide area, Clitlicroc's Day of lazy, passed almost without incident. Those who predicted that the Qistlc might be tom apart |


stone by stone, were happily proved wrong for there were no unscencly incidents, although there were noisy groups remain­ ing in the town long after the hour of midnight. The only blemish on a thoroughly happy day was the


flooding of the marquee during the evening dance as the result of a sudden rainstorm. The dancers mainly took it in till good part and there was more laughter than dismay.

Clithcroc to enjoy themselves, not to make mischief, and there was plenty of evidence that they had succeeded in their


ambitions. Those who came to Clithcroc to hear good jazz, played
