SUNDAY, 12th NOVEMBER, 1961
The Worshipful the Mayor (Mr. Councillor William Sharpies, J.P.) proposes to attend Morning Service at St. Mary’s Parish Church on Sunday, 12th November next, for the observance of Remembrance Day, and trusts he may be accompanied by residents and, in particular, by those serving in a public capacity or in the various social and welfare organisations In the Borough.
Organisations should assemble in Church Street and proceed independently into the church so as to be in their seats by 10-20 a.m.
The Mayor will receive in the Mayor’s Parlour at the Town Hall from 10-0 a.m.
On the termination of the service, a procession will be formed in Church Street (marshalled by police officers), and proceed to the Cenotaph where the “ Last Post” and the “ Reveille ’’ will be sounded, and wreaths laid. The Mayor and his party will then proceed to the Castle House, and the procession will disperse.
