sermons were held on Sunday last. The day opened with a celebration of Holy Com munion at 8-0 a.m., when there was a good number of communicants. At the matins service, the preacher was the Rev. A. K. Chance. Rector of Afarton. Skipton. whose sermon was much appreciated. Jn the afternoon. Air. W. -11. Wigglesworth, of Waddington. gave a very instructive address to tiie children. The preacher at evensong was the Rev. Canon R. Whincup. Vicar of Heaton. Bradford. He is a mosti eloquent preacher and'showed on Sunday night that lie has not lost any of Ins power as such. He held the congregation spell-bound as ho >o forcibly proved the necessity of Christi anity not only to the individual, hut to tho world at large. Ho is an old friend of the Vicar, who conducted the service. A very pleasing feature of all the services was the >inging of a special choir of 32 little girls, who had been trained hv Aliss Swallow. They reflected groat credit on her pains taking work. They were suitably dressed in white, and wore confirmation veils and, in tho processions, carried sheafs of flowers. Very touching was the way in which they sang their special hymns. “ Sec the morning sun ascending,” “ He loves me,” “ Jesus smiles on me.” “ There's n work for Jesus.” and “ Once a little violet.” Air. X. Hudson accompanied on the organ. There were Iaige congregations and the collections amounted to a IRtlo over £ 20, tho sum asked for. Tho altar liowors were provided by the Sunday School teachers, who also did the decorating of the font. For tho first time, a new bra-s font ewer, the gift of Air. Hailey and daughter, in memory of tho late Airs.’Bailey, was placed at the font.
