Amongst the other business for considera tion at the Town Council meeting yester day was the well nigh worn out proposal to give notice to Messrs. Ireland and
Harrison to give up that part of the Sewage Farm held by them. The whole of the old arguments were
again brought forward, and very little that was new to us was added. The new councillors headed by Councillors Sagar and Cowman were for taking possession, but there were as many against as there were in favour. . Councillor Cowgill and Councillor Garnett failed to see how the Corporation - could benefit by taking it over, seeing. that they were getting a fair rental .for the land, and in addition were getting the sludge pit cleared out by Mr. I reland for nothing. .
