SUKSAN SALAMANDER FSO is SOLASAFE


During the summer, South Shields based Solar Solve Marine dispatched a consignment of 11 of its Type Approved, SOLASAFE anti-glare roller sunscreens to the Master of the SUKSAN SALAMANDER. They were to be installed at the navigation bridge windows of the vessel.


There is a very interesting story about the vessel. Built in 1993 as the shuttle tanker Navion Clipper, after 20 years the vessel was converted to an FSO and has been located at the Bualuang field in the Gulf of Thailand, ever since. When in use the SOLASAFE roller sunscreens will create a safer and more comfortable working environment for the personnel who work on the navigation bridge. Simply by lowering them, they will be protected from the solar glare, heat and uv radiation.

HydroSurv Expands Production Facilities to Meet Demand for USVs

Subsea7 Charters Jones-Act Compliant Vessels in the Gulf of Mexico


Exeter-based HydroSurv has moved into brand new facilities to deliver expansion in production capacity for its state-of-the-art Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs) for hydrographic and environmental data collection.


Located centrally in Exeter’s Marsh Barton industrial estate, HydroSurv's new 6000ft² premises incorporate facilities for design, manufacturing and the final assembly of USVs from 2.8-8.6m in size, enabling the company to efficiently scale deployment of its technology.


The new base in Exeter currently hosts 15 employees, with the company expecting headcount to increase to more than 30 over the next 12 months.


Subsea7 has entered into four long-term vessel charter agreements with Otto Candies LLC and Bordelon Marine LLC, to strengthen offshore construction, inspection, maintenance and repair (IRM), ROV survey, and pipe/ umbilical laying support operations, in the Gulf of Mexico.


Grant Candies, Wyatt Candies and Ross Candies are IRM, survey, and light construction vessels under charter with Otto Candies LLC. The Connor Bordelon is a multipurpose supply vessel under charter with Bordelon Marine LLC. The contracts have differing start dates and durations, with options for extensions.
