an ambassador. It forms part of their new Inspire My Future initiative and aligns with my biggest passion of advocating for creating opportunities for the next generation. The hope is that by giving a platform to people who are helping to build tomorrow’s workforce, we can shape futures.
This is helped by a culmination of 26 years working in education, including my role as a Senior Teacher in a pupil referral unit. This experience was profoundly shaping, honing my ability to connect with and empower young people facing significant challenges. Significantly, it taught me that effective communication isn't just about speaking; it's about listening, understanding, and building trust.
OUTSIDE OF BROADCASTING WHAT ARE YOUR PASSIONS? I have a love of Gospel music which grew in my 20s when I realised that there was this genre of music that had an r ‘n’ b feel, but also had a message that was celebrating the gospel message of love, hope and God.
I am also a proud patron of Edward's Trust, based in Birmingham. It was my own experience with stillbirth 24 years ago that led me to the door of this incredible charity, which provides free, specialist bereavement support for parents, children and young
people through counselling, wellbeing therapies and support groups.

My faith is also important to me. I know that having a love for the Lord helped me through that dark period. But, of course, it doesn't mean that you don't feel, and you don't get upset.
I also find the time to support, not one but two, football teams Arsenal and West Bromwich Albion. (It’s hard not to have a love for
your local team!) I love golf too – although it does take me an age to get around the course!
WHERE DO YOU GO FROM HERE? I'd love to combine my own skills and life lessons to do more public speaking, using courage and vulnerability as part of that and stepping out in faith to do something that somebody's told you you're never able to do!
I want to inspire people to know that they too can have the confidence to stand up in front of people. I think I’m seen as an encourager. I always value people and I'm wanting them to do better, and I think that comes from my years of teaching experience.
