JUNIOR FOOTBALL STARS!
YorPower, the back-up power specialist, is committed to giving back to the communities it serves. Over the last year, this includes planning its journey to becoming a carbon neutral organisation.
Earlier this year, Group Managing Director Stephen Peal, proactively entered discussions with environmental, facilities management and software expert, Neutral Carbon Zone, to help set and achieve its net zero goals. The aim was clear: to track, slash and offset unavoidable emissions as quickly as possible.
Already, YorPower has achieved a Silver accreditation and is now working towards achieving a Gold.
Elsewhere, Stephen Peal’s success extends to the football field as the team he coaches (with Tony Emmott) – Gomersal & Cleckheaton U13 Brazil – finished at the top of their league for the 2022/23 season.
“Nearly all the games were challenging as there are some very talented and hardworking lads in the Huddersfield Macron Junior Football League U13 Division 7. But I’m delighted to say that we stuck to our game plan and our never-say-die spirit prevailed,” explained Stephen.
“We won our last game of the season 5-2 over Elland Juniors U13 Crocs to finish with 45 points – six points ahead of Huddersfield LH AFC Juniors U13 Pumas. That’s a huge turnaround from last season, when we finished bottom of the league with only one win.
“Perhaps we should use ‘failure is not an option’ as the slogan for our team as well as our company!”
