Redevelopment Of AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium Edges Nearer
A planned £90 million redevelopment and transformation of AFC Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium looks set to advance, which would see capacity increase from 11,000 spectators to 20,500 through the expansion and construction of stands, intended to enhance the matchday experience with a new fan zone and achieve full compliance with the Premier League and UEFA demanded standards.
The Cherries are seeking to construct a new perimeter fence line including relocated turnstiles, a new ticket office and extend its West Stadium, excluding not general admission seating.
The latest proposal comprises a package of enabling works forming the initial phase of a wider programme of stadium development, specifically intended to facilitate a subsequent application which seeks to deliver an increase in spectator capacity by filling in all four stadium corners to create additional general admission capacity of around 1,440 seats, which would require relocation of the existing floodlights from the current corners of the ground.
It is also planning foundations for a new South Stand, creation of enlarged outside broadcasting area and away team coach parking,
partial rerouting of combined pedestrian / cycle
path, optimisation of car and cycle parking layout, landscaping and associated works, which would mean the demolition and relocation of existing buildings and structures, with a spectator capacity of around 7,000.

AFC Bournemouth has appointed Savills as one of the lead consultants for expansion plans, which are planned to be undertaken during the football season (August–May). The capacity enhancement works, involving the erection of new spectator stands, are scheduled for the closed season (June–August), when the stadium is not in use. The wider redevelopment project is split into three phases, with the current proposal forming phases one and two for enabling works and South Stand Foundations. A third phase and separate planning application would involve capacity expansion for the ground. A report for Bournemouth’s Eastern BCP Planning Committee recommends granting permission.
