Prepared for what’s next in higher education

DENNIS MARCHIORI, D.C., Ph.D. (`90) CHANCELLOR AND CEO

Higher education has always evolved to meet the needs of students and the world our teaching ultimately serves. Today, that evolution is arriving with force, driven by shifting demographics, new student needs, and emerging federal legislation that affects how students finance their education and how institutions deliver it. Chiropractic education is not exempt

from these pressures. At Palmer College of Chiropractic, we are meeting this moment with clarity and confidence. Recent federal legislation in the One Big

Beautiful Bill Act is altering the student loan landscape in significant ways, especially for professional students. This new reality requires careful planning, thoughtful advocacy, and leadership that is willing to engage new ideas while remaining grounded in mission. Palmer has done this before. We have navigated enrollment fluctuations, campus transitions, and shifting public expectations, emerging stronger each time because we stayed focused on students and on the future of the profession. Affordability is always in mind as we support students. For years, we have taken a proactive approach — examining cost structures, expanding academic pathways, strengthening partnerships, and growing philanthropic support — to ensure a Palmer education remains attainable without compromising rigor or outcomes. That work

is accelerating now. Across the College, teams are aligning academic innovation, financial strategy, and student support in ways that reflect both fiscal responsibility and our values. The issue of Palmer Proud in your hands

reflects that momentum. You will see how Palmer is responding to today’s realities while continuing to lead chiropractic education on every front. You will also see the importance of community: alumni, donors, faculty, staff, and students working together to sustain opportunity for the next generation. As you read this issue, I invite you to pause

and reflect. How has your own journey been shaped by the education you received here? In a time of significant change, what role do you want to play in sustaining opportunity for today’s students and strengthening the profession for generations to come? Palmer’s future is being built now, through the collective commitment of everyone who believes in what this College stands for. Thank you for considering how your continued involvement can help carry that mission forward — and for being an essential part of what comes next.
