Celebrating 30 years of innovation

Solventum celebrates 30 years of groundbreaking advancements in wound care with 3M VAC Therapy and skin protection with 3M Cavilon Skin Care Solutions. These two pioneering product technologies have transformed how Solventum approaches wound management and skin integrity, offering patients and healthcare professionals unparalleled standards of care.

I

ntroduced three decades ago, VAC Therapy utilises proprietary foam dressings, drapes and advanced technology to apply uniform negative pressure to the wound surface, helping to draw wound edges together, remove exudate and infectious material, and promote perfusion and granulation tissue development.

The evolution of VAC Therapy Over the years, VAC Therapy has evolved to include a collection of negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT) products that have been developed for use across the continuum of care that range from multi-modal devices to portable and disposable units. More recently, a new all-in- one dressing (3M VAC Peel and Place Dressing*) allows for up to seven days of continuous wear time. This dressing combines the advantages of NPWT with an integrated perforated, non-adherent layer to simplify application and improve wear time. The VAC Therapy system is the world’s most researched NPWT solution and has helped to treat an incredible 10 million wounds worldwide.1

Supported by comparative

clinical evidence, VAC Therapy has been shown to reduce readmission risk and minimise reoperation,2

resulting in shorter

hospital stays and fewer complications.2,3 VAC Therapy has become a trusted choice for managing hard-to-heal wounds, simple and complex wounds, surgical incisions, traumatic injuries, diabetic foot ulcers, venous leg ulcers, pressure injuries, flaps and grafts, showing a diverse multitude of use- cases that have broad applicability.
