ucleic acid amplification-based diagnostics has revolutionised diagnosis in healthcare centres. Although the detection and quantification of genetic material in clinical samples has impacted all areas of healthcare, molecular diagnostics has particularly shone in its focus on the diagnosis of infectious diseases.
This constant development is due to the advantages of molecular techniques as compared with classical microbiology. Long growth periods and culture conditions are the major downside of traditional microbiological diagnosis. The high sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and robustness of molecular diagnostics, together with the increased speed of the assays, have made them the techniques of
choice for the diagnosis of infectious diseases. One of the major goals of molecular diagnosis is to offer a solution that allows the simultaneous detection of multiple items through an automated process, from (sample reception) nucleic acids extraction to the amplification result, maintaining its high throughput intact. CerTest Biotec has developed the VIASURE V-Flex system, a compact and easy-to-use instrument that allows the automation of the molecular tests, which, together with the VIASURE Real Time PCR kits, offer a complete solution for molecular diagnostics.
This flexible high-throughput automated system has the advantage to isolate high-quality and quantity DNA/ RNA from different clinical samples using
the same procedure and allows testing on a single 96-well format plate, various combinations of different pathogens for which the VIASURE Real Time PCR kit has been developed.
The instrument has been designed with flexible configuration, in order to meet different user needs. In addition, CerTest Biotec has developed the VIASURE V-Smart, a user-friendly software that enables communication with the main real- time PCR systems and allow it to process and interpret the PCR data files, giving fast, reliable and reproducible results.
