Jan Lüder appointed CEO of Voith Hydro


Voith Hydro has named Jan Lüder as its new President and CEO, effective April 1, 2025. He will also join the Corporate Board of Management of the Voith Group. Lüdesucceeds Dr. Tobias Keitel, who is leaving the company. Lüder joins Voith Hydro from Sulzer AG in Switzerland, where he served as Division President Flow and was a member of the Executive Committee. From 2015 to 2022, he held leadership roles at thyssenkrupp, including CEO of the Mining Technologies division and CEO of Industrial Solutions Asia Pacific. Before that, he spent nearly 20 years at Siemens AG in various international management positions across Asia and Europe. He holds a degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Berlin.


“By appointing Jan Lüder, we have secured a leader for Voith who brings proven expertise in project and plant operations, along with extensive international management experience from renowned industrial firms. He is poised to strategically position the Group Division Hydro for economic success and capitalize on the growth opportunities presented by the global energy transition,” said Prof. Siegfried Russwurm, Chairman of the Shareholders’ Committee and the Supervisory Board of Voith.


American Hydro appoints Chetan Chauhan as President


American Hydro has announced the appointment of Chetan Chauhan as its new President. Chauhan brings over 28 years of leadership experience in the energy and process industries, including roles at General Electric’s Power Division, where he managed businesses with revenues exceeding $500 million and led teams of more than 1,400 employees across 22 countries. “I am excited and honored to join the talented


team at American Hydro and take on this exciting leadership role,” Chauhan said. “It is my pleasure to lead this company to new heights with laser focus on customers and leveraging technology to drive innovation with the industry. I am looking forward to working with our customers and industry participants to be their Hydro Power Solutions partner.” As President, Chauhan will oversee the company‘s hydropower projects, support new energy initiatives, and work to enhance

EMEC announces new leadership team


The European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) has unveiled a new executive leadership team as it moves forward with plans to drive clean energy innovation.


Matthew Finn has been appointed Managing


Director after 19 years with the company, including five years as Commercial Director. He has played a key role in securing over £200 million in funding for projects in wave and tidal energy, offshore wind, hydrogen, alternative fuels, and island decarbonisation. Finn aims to expand EMEC’s test and demonstration sites for wave and tidal energy while developing infrastructure for floating wind technology. “As an innovation catalyst, EMEC uses its know-how, services and infrastructure to reduce the time, cost, and risk to progress innovative sustainable technologies to market. I am honoured to step into this role alongside such a talented team. Together, we will continue to drive innovation, deliver exceptional value to our customers, and strengthen our position as a global leader,” said Finn. The leadership team also includes Mark


Hamilton as Operations and Technology Director. Hamilton brings experience from the tidal energy sector, having worked as Chief Technology Officer and later Managing Director at Orbital Marine Power. He also founded Solo Energy, which developed virtual power plant software and was acquired by SMS Energy. “Having lived in Orkney for over 20 years and


worked in renewables during that time, I have witnessed first-hand the growth of EMEC and the major impact it has had in driving forward the marine renewables industry as well as


accelerating R&D and commercial activity in many other exciting areas in cleantech. I’m delighted to be joining the executive team and lending my industry knowledge, commercial experience and innovative drive to the team,” Hamilton said. Donna Ritch continues as Finance Director, overseeing financial leadership, HR, IT, and support services. Eileen Linklater, promoted last year to Corporate Affairs Director, manages quality, legal matters, stakeholder engagement, and communications, strengthening EMEC’s industry reputation. Neil Kermode, who led EMEC for 20 years,


will step down as Managing Director but remain with the organisation to provide strategic guidance. Kermode has received multiple industry awards and an OBE for his contributions to renewable energy and the Orkney community.


Kleinschmidt’s GinaRenee Autrey Co-Vice Chair NHA’s Public Affairs Committee


Kleinschmidt Associates has announced that GinaRenee Autrey, Director of Marketing and Communications, has been appointed Co-Vice Chair of the National Hydropower Association’s Public Affairs Committee. The Committee works to promote the benefits


of hydropower and strengthen advocacy efforts. As Co-Vice Chair, GinaRenee will collaborate with industry leaders to enhance outreach initiatives, shape public messaging, and support policies that drive the future of sustainable water-powered energy. ”NHA is fortunate to have GinaRenee’s
