TADANO TO CLOSE WALLERSCHEID PRODUCTION FACILITY
Japanese crane manufacturer Tadano has announced it is closing the Wallerscheid production facility in Zweibrücken, Germany, and realigning production accordingly. Tadano says the envisaged changes in
production are designed to enable the company to even better respond to the needs of the customers and to ensure that its products and services remain market-leading in the longer term. It will also serve to improve the speed
of delivery in the production of cranes as well as repair and service work.
The management of Tadano subsidiary
Tadano Demag will begin consultations with the works council. As a result of this planned realignment, items produced at the Wallerscheid facility will be moved to the Tadano Demag Dinglerstrasse factory, the Tadano Faun Lauf factory, and a Tadano factory in Japan. Tadano says it recognises the great potential of its German production sites and that both Tadano Demag and Tadano Faun Lauf will continue to play a key part in its global production network.
WAGENBORG BUYS FIRST XCMG HYBRID ALL TERRAIN CRANE
Groningen, The Netherlands-based horizontal, vertical and heavy transport specialist Wagenborg Nedlift says it has reached an agreement with Chinese manufacturer XCMG to buy the first model of its hybrid 60-tonne all terrain crane: the XCA60_EV. Delivery of the new crane is expected this summer. According to Wagenborg, the purchase is in line with its sustainability ambitions and long-term corporate vision. It is also a response to market demands which are increasingly favouring sustainable machines. Wagenborg says it started its search
for a mass produced, CE-certified and TCVT-approved hybrid crane in 2019 when it approached several suppliers. XCMG's XCA60_EV has been the only one so far to meet all its requirements, says Wagenborg. The crane incorporates a large number of European components and will comply with EN13000 and The Netherlands Vehicle Authority (RDW) safety standards. The crane was developed with collaboration between Wagenborg and XCMG and has already been tested

extensively by Wagenborg over the last year. “To build the perfect machine for the European market we relied on the knowledge and expertise of Wagenborg,” says Hu Yuan, EU sales manager at XCMG. "Without them it would have been difficult to develop this crane. We are extremely satisfied with the development of our XCA60_EV and hope that this crane will be the first in a series.” Gerard Bastiaansen, managing director
of Wagenborg Nedlift, says, "The demo crane is far from the final model we have
now ordered. Our technical department and operators have had a prominent role in the whole design and production process of the demo crane towards the final XCA60_EV. Sharing all kinds of improvements with our supplier XCMG and Dutch independent inspection specialist Aboma's contribution has resulted in a machine that exceeds our requirements. I am particularly proud that Wagenborg will be the first crane company to present this completely emission-free crane this summer!”
