PANADOL REVEALS FIRST INNOVATION IN A DECADE WITH NEW ACTIFAST SOLUBLE LEMON FLAVOUR
The Made in Ireland pain relief brand, Panadol, is launching its first innovation in ten years – Panadol ActiFast Lemon 500mg Soluble Tablets.
The launch will expand the existing Panadol ActiFast range in Ireland and offers a fast- acting, soluble pain relief option in a brand-new lemon flavour.
The launch comes as the Panadol Soluble portfolio has grown by over 23% in pharmacy, showcasing the consumer demand for this format remains high across Irish pharmacies.
We believe the new lemon flavour will drive trial of the latest innovation from Panadol, whilst providing an alternative option to traditional pain relief tablets, helping to grow the pain category by offering consumers a wider range of self-care options.
Panadol ActiFast Lemon 500mg Soluble Tablets dissolve into a solution and are gentle on the stomach, when used as directed.
The product is absorbed up to two times faster than standard paracetamol tablets and can start to relieve pain in as little as 15 minutes, helping pharmacists to offer consumers ways to manage their pain quickly and effectively.
The ActiFast range from Panadol relieves a range of common pains, including headache, toothache, period pain, and those associated with cold and flu.
Lucy Else, Brand Manager, Panadol, said: “We understand that we have a responsibility to continue providing fast-acting pain relief remedies that keep up with the evolving needs of consumers.
“The new lemon flavour variant will be the first product to join the established Panadol portfolio in over ten years, helping us to expand our range of pain relief medication.
“The new launch will also help us progress our wider sustainability goals, as it will become the first Panadol product to include recycling logos
on the packaging, helping consumers to know which parts of the packaging to recycle.”
Panadol ActiFast Lemon 500mg Soluble Tablets are now available in pharmacies across Ireland in packs of 24.
The launch will be supported by a dedicated above and below the line media campaign from July, including an all-new TVC alongside digital and OOH advertising.

The week of the trade show in September is a busy one, with the NPA’s second ‘Day of Action’ planned for the Thursday 19th September. Significant interest in the plight of pharmacies was raised with politicians in Scotland as a result of the initial Day of Action in June. We have called a second day of action so no-one can forget the issues in pharmacies – or the potential of community pharmacy teams to change the country’s health for the better. Community pharmacies can make such a difference, but only if they have the support they need – reliable payment systems, reliable medicine supply and trust and respect from the wider NHS.
The next Ask Your Pharmacist Week will be 4-11 November. The aim of this annual campaign is to raise awareness of pharmacy services and to prompt conversations at a local level about

community pharmacy’s role and benefits. Activities in previous years have ranged from window displays and social media to pharmacy visits by local dignitaries, presentations to local patient groups and radio phone ins. More details to come. Meanwhile, any NPA member or pharmacy stakeholders wishing to get involved should contact the NPA’s Head of Communications, Stephen Fishwick, at

Finally, a reminder that the NPA Scottish Patient Safety Incident Reporting Service is available to all members of community pharmacy teams in Scotland, using the specific Scotland Reporting Form for 'near miss' and 'error' patient safety incidents. The anonymised reports are reviewed for trends at least twice a year with a summary published to share learning.
