POLICE PENSION UPDATE
been slow in providing local guidance and processes and our advice would be to approach your force and ask for authority to obtain the advice before spending money on that advice. Any issues should be raised with your local Branch Boards in the first instance.
POSITIVE MOVES There have been positives with the increase in commutation factors and the refund and agreement to no longer pass the Scheme Sanction Charge on to members. The pay rises of recent years allied to the
maintaining of the final salary link (2006 and 1987 schemes) and weighted accrual (for the 1987 scheme) have seen the legacy schemes continue to grow. The 2015 scheme has also increased
due to the pay rises and the recent inflationary increases. Members need to keep their pension picture under review and only make the choice of pension at retirement when they have all the information available to them.
PFEW has recently revamped the pension
