Students who complete all Intermediate 2 level courses will register for ENRE 110, an ENGL 101 equivalent for non-native speakers of English.

ESL Placement Upon completing the ESL placement test, students must register for their lowest scoring courses and may take ESL courses that are no greater than one level apart.

Students who test into the ESL Program at the Basic 1 level are required to focus on ESL courses for at least three semesters. Once students have completed all Intermediate 1 level courses, students can take MATH and other general education courses that apply to their majors.

When registering for ESL courses, students should be aware that the assigned instructors are subject to change at the department’s discretion.
