RESEARCH

Students have many opportunities to work with professors on research projects. Chioma Ngene ’20 studied biochemistry and pursued her passion for research. After completing one internship researching the bacterium that causes tuberculosis at Michigan State University, she sought out another research internship at Atrium Health in the department of surgery. She currently studies prostate cancer at the Institute for Medical Research in association with the Durham VA Health Care System.

PLAY

Our campus is active with clubs, intramurals, bikes, scooters, hammocks and plenty of events like Spring Carnival and Casino Night. And there’s more to see when you venture just a few miles off-campus. Charlotte is alive with arts, sports, restaurants, nightlife and lots of outdoor activities. You might catch Panther fever if you come to Queens; we’re

about three miles from the stadium. And more than likely, you will visit one of our internationally-recognized museums, go to a gallery crawl, see a touring Broadway show or concert, eat at great restaurants and browse the boutiques and shops that make up some of the best shopping in the Southeast.
