ROTAK Helicopter Services Kaman K-Max
ROTAK Helicopter Services is based in Alaska, but the operator brings its precision heavy-lift capabilities to locations across the United States, including helping rebuild Puerto Rico’s infrastructure in the wake of Hurricane Maria.
Whether power-line construction, energy and mining development, aerial wildfire suppression, or less common projects like fishing a snowmobile from a glacial crevasse, ROTAK puts as much effort into planning and safety as it does flying. The company holds both BARS and, possibly unique among utility helicopter operators, IS-BAO Stage 2 certificates.
This K-Max, one of three in ROTAK’s fleet (which also includes a pair of MD 500 helicopters), is resting during nearly a month of heli-logging in central Idaho, the type of operation for which the aircraft was designed.
