Sad news has reached me about the death of two long standing, stalwart members of IIMS. Caroline Rostant based in Trinidad passed away unexpectedly in Austria and Tony McGrail (located in the UK) succumbed to a serious illness. Scaled down tributes are in this bulletin but do read the Report Magazine (published today) for the full obituaries. The world of marine surveying without these two characters is a lesser place.


IIMS continues to enhance and improve its App technology with the help of our friends eDot Solutions in Goa. The latest development is the launch of a web-based version of the recently launched Marine Surveyor Search App. It boasts the same functionality but means those who prefer not to download the App on to their smart phone can use the web version which has identical neat features. This advanced search capability is soon to replace the existing search facility on the IIMS website too.


We have a busy line up of events taking place between now and Christmas with details being released as they become available. We have listed them in this bulletin and hope to see you in person or online at one or other. In particular I would draw your attention to the Marine Surveying International Fest II on Tuesday 10th Ship Surveyors).
