You are considered a transfer student if you’ve completed at least 12 credit hours of college-level work after graduating from high school. Transfer students can apply via the Coalition Application or SUNY Application with a $50 nonrefundable fee. We encourage you to apply for admission early in the semester before your intended transfer date.

Once UB receives your application, you will receive a unique link to your Applicant Status Page. We will send you the link via email. Check this page for status information and to review missing items.

If you have previously applied to UB as an undergraduate student, please email the Office of Admissions to update your application.

2. Request your transcripts from each institution you previously attended.

Ask the registrar’s office at your previous college(s) to send an official transcript to ub-admissions@buffalo.edu or to:

• If you have completed fewer than 24 credit hours at the time of application, UB also needs an official transcript from your high school.

• Please visit admissions.buffalo.edu for instructions and information about application materials, requirements and test-optional admissions.

Important! If you want to be eligible for state or federal financial aid, UB must receive proof of

your high school graduation by the first day of classes. To ensure time for processing and review, submit your final official high school transcript or its equivalent and all college transcripts at least two weeks before the start of classes.
