What’s New

THE NEW SAGESPORT 160 Based upon Robb White’s unique sport boat, Sage Marine’s new SageSport 160 is the evolution of the design. As a young man, Robb started with a Grumman sport canoe and then spent the next 30 years of his boatbuilding career refin- ing his sport boat. He added a foot of length, a hollow entry with more dead- rise, ample tumblehome, and a gentler shear. Staying true to Robb’s hull shape, and constructed with modern com- posites, Sage Marine’s SageSport 160 takes the next step toward an extremely efficient, light weight, and versatile boat.

By utilizing carbon fiber, Kevlar, fi- berglass, vinylester resin, and modern vacuum infusion methods, Sage has brought their new 16-foot boat in at just over 100 pounds. Tat’s light enough to car-top.

Tis doesn’t mean that the boat is light on features though. All SageSport 160s come standard with positive flotation, molded seats, storage, UHMW out- board pads, and an adaptable central rail system for accessories. You won’t be short of ways to propel this boat through the water either. Te SageSport 160 can be efficiently paddled, rowed, stand-up paddled, and motored with up to a 6HP outboard. Tat 6HP outboard will give you an easy cruising speed of 10 knots and a top speed of about 15 knots. Tere is even talk of a sailing kit in the works.

With a bottom profile more like a SUP and a beam of 43 inches, the SageSport 160 is stable enough to stand up in and fish. Put all this together and you have one of the most versatile small boats on the market today. The SageSport 160 will be available this summer with an expected retail price of $3,500.

Just give us a call, e-mail or mail us the recipient’s name and address and we’ll start their sub- scription and send a giſt card that identi- fies you as the per- son giving the giſt.

Have questions ? Here are some an- swers:

Giving aways sub- scriptions? Are you guys crazy? Well, possibly. But this magazine’s most important asset is you folks, our loyal readers. We figure the best place to find more loyal readers is through you—so please take us up on the offer and send a free subscription to a friend.

Can I give it to someone who used to subscribe? Yes, the only thing we can’t do is add an extension to a current or recently expired subscription, or give it to someone who already received a free giſt subscription previously. Tis offer is also restricted to U.S. and Canadian

addresses.

What if I don’t know if the person I want to send it to is a current subscriber? You can call or e-mail us and we can check the database, or just send in the giſt sub- scription order and we’ll let you know if they are already on the rolls.

What if I’m not yet a subscriber—can I order a subscrip- tion now and a free gift subscription for a friend at the same time? Yes! You can get two subscriptions for the price of one.

OK, so tell me again how I do this. Sure,

just call, e-mail, or mail your recipient’s name, address and (if applicable) e-mail address, and say “Free Giſt Subscription,” and we’ll take it from there. Remember to include your own contact informa- tion so we can confirm you have an ac- tive subscription and so we’ll know who to say the giſt is from.

Happy holidays!
