REMEMBERING LYNNE SHPAK, CONTINUED FROM PAGE 20

Statesmans Pandora, owned by Laura Door (CT)

“This is our daughter riding Statesmans Skyhawk in 2010 at a lesson with Lynne. He is a stallion and full brother to Statesmans Signature and our daughter was only 10 [years old] in this picture! Just goes to show you how great these horses are and how much Lynne trusted them.” – Megan Vogel (Frederick)

“I have massaged a lot of stallions. Thought none would be better behaved than my favorite Perche- ron stallion...until I met Chevy. I was thrilled to take a riding lesson on Chevy before he died. I think of Lynne often. She is the best all-round horsewoman I have ever met. I learned so much from listening to her numerous stories. I even learned when she was telling me what I was doing wrong!” - Hope O’Toole (Howard County)

Battersea Zachary, by Chief of State with Lynne in May of 2014.

“This is me with The Statesman at a Garrison Forrest School show. I was intrigued and in love with this horse! I was also a friend of Lynne’s. As I recall, she offered to let me ride him one day. I could not accept such an honor but have kept this picture close to my heart all these years.” – Bonnie Rosenberg (Cockeysville)

Statesmans Woodberry, owned by Karen Streaker and Warren Streaker

“Statesmans Tamara was my first pony. She took me through my C3 rating and went on to teach several other pony club kids. I think she is still going strong!” – Ema Klugman (Clarks- burg)

“Statesman Ja Door has the true Morgan tem- perament!” - Tara J. Wahle (The Big Purple Barn)

48 | THE EQUIERY | JANUARY 2020

“I currently own a gelding, Sil Sation’s Spirit, who is by Statesman Silhouette. My mother bought him for me from Lori Shoemake when he was five years old and I was in second grade. I used him as my Pony Club mount achieving my D3 and B dressage ratings on him. We then went on to get more serious in dressage achieving all of my Bronze Medal scores and showing recognized up through Fourth level. He went on to help two other riders achieve their Bronze Medal scores as well. He currently is enjoying semi-retirement and getting spoiled rotten by the person who leases him and other adoring fans.” – Jaclyn Sink Harman (Dayton)

Runny Mede Knight Hawk, a 2001 The Statesman grandson, and Brittany Stickley: “He is an amaz- ing partner and I have learned an immeasurable amount from him.”
