Fritz was the fi rst horse I rode at Reddemeade Equestrian Center and I always asked to ride him in lessons because he was such a great horse, he was very well-schooled and enjoyed teaching riders. He was a real pro. It was more than obvious that the two of us were meant to be together, something that Jane Seigler, his owner, understood well, and a year later, he became my beloved horse. Fritz and I spent thirteen wonderful years together, years I will never forget. He taught me more than just leg yields and half passes, travers and renvers, and fl ying changes. He taught me to be a better person.

I am most grateful that he got to spend the last sever- al years of his life at a great barn, Southwind Farm in Damascus, where he was loved, respected, very well taken care of and where he thrived since he arrived. He enjoyed spending his days in “his fi eld” with the other gelding, while watching the mares in anoth- er fi eld.

life as a school master. As such, he always enjoyed and appreciated being ridden and loved being schooled by “Madame Carolyn”, who had the gift to make him look powerful and elegant, even in his thirties.

I am deeply grateful to Sheri Thornley, owner of South- wind Farm, and Carolyn Del Grosso, who made my be- loved Fritz thrive and took great care of him, day after day. I will never forget the love and the dedication Sheri and Carolyn gave my beloved Fritz. I am also very grateful to Damascus Equine Associates and in particular Dr. Jim Lewis and Dr. Ed Radue, and to farrier Tom Parris and his sons who kept him in such a great shape that he was able to gallop in his favor- ite fi eld, at Southwind Farm, with the other geldings until his last day.
