Keeping it Green A


As we adapt to an ever-evolving threat landscape, staying ahead of the curve is paramount, and our special five-page feature on access control explores the latest innovations and cutting-edge tools. This is complemented by a series of articles looking at other advances in security technology, strategy and approach that may shape the security in the coming year.


In this edition, we are proud to launch the City Security Article of the Year 2023. This coveted award, now in its fifth year, acknowledges outstanding contributions to our understanding of security challenges and solutions. We must also thank our supporters of the award: City of London Crime Prevention Association, Genetec and The Security Event.

The World Land Trust initiative invests in preserving environmentally important forests which are under imminent threat of deforestation through carbon balancing. Carbon balancing is a scheme that invests money in offsetting the amount of CO2 produced during the manufacturing process. The lead patron of this scheme is Sir David Attenborough. The FSC is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting responsible forestry. We believe in making a real statement and a positive contribution towards saving our planet by reducing carbon impact.

We've supported initiatives such as the CoLCPA's programme to prevent violence against women and girls and address domestic abuse. Regularly, we've brought partnership updates from the CSSC, illuminating profiles of Chartered Security Professionals and frontline security officers. We are also committed to sharing valuable career advice for those in security and highlighting the critical importance of mental health and wellbeing in the security profession.
