Keeping it Green A
A
s we begin a new academic year, welcome to our autumn edition with its traditional focus on career pathways in security. We have insights for every stage of your career, including the newly announced security apprenticeship programmes, the pros and cons of taking a degree or post-graduate qualification and how to embed continuous learning in your approach to career development.
(Digital version is also available from our website)
To complement this focus on your career, we highlight the importance of mental health and wellbeing at work, as well as celebrating diversity in the security sector. These areas are important for our individual wellbeing and creating an environment where everyone thrives. Our expert contributors demonstrate they are clearly good for business too.
To progress and flourish, everyone needs to spend some time reflecting on their goals and how well they are doing to meet them, and open their minds to new possibilities. So why not grab a coffee and spend some time with City Security magazine to explore the possibilities?
t City Security magazine we care about how our magazines are printed and the paper they are printed on.
Our printers are certified members of the World Land Trust and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The World Land Trust initiative invests in preserving environmentally important forests which are under imminent threat of deforestation through carbon balancing. Carbon balancing is a scheme that invests money in offsetting the amount of CO2 produced during the manufacturing process. The lead patron of this scheme is Sir David Attenborough. The FSC is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting responsible forestry. We believe in making a real statement and a positive contribution towards saving our planet by reducing carbon impact.

We are attending the Emergency Services Show at the NEC in Birmingham on 19 and 20 September – let us know if you would like to meet up. Also, we are hosting a stand at International Security Expo at Olympia in London on 26 and 27 September. Come and say hello. We are always at the monthly City of London Crime Prevention Association meetings – this is an excellent organisation to keep up to date with crime and terrorism threat updates and advice to mitigate. They continue their important focus this year on preventing violence against women and girls and domestic abuse.
Thank you to our advertisers, we couldn’t share all this fantastic security know-how without you. Get in touch if you’d like to know more about the amazing range of ways you can promote your service or product with us.
