Our Seasonal Fragrance Spotlight focuses on one of the abundant essential oils we have selected to use in a variety of Pink Zebra scents this season—lemon.
LEMON IN THE SPOTLIGHT
As one of the most versatile essential oils, lemon has many applications including home and personal fragrance, cleaning solutions, food, skin-care and health.
ORIGINS
Lemons grow on flowering trees that are native to Asia, although they are now cultivated in countries all over the world. The tree is part of the evergreen family and can reach a height of about 20 feet. Lemons and lemon essential oil have been used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat a wide spectrum of health conditions for over 1,000 years. It is well-known for its cleansing, purifying and invigorating properties.
BENEFITS
• A fresh, citrusy, uplifting aroma cleanses the air and eliminates odors. This makes it an important top note in perfumes and home fragrance as well as an effective odor neutralizer when diffused.
• Sometimes referred to as liquid sunshine, lemon is known to be a wonderful mood enhancer, stirring feelings of energy, balancing stress-induced negative moods and promoting brighter feelings.
• Lemon has also been used to help with immune and circulatory support when taken internally and has been used to add a fresh flavor to food and beverages.
Experience lemon essential oil in many of this season’s fragrances, such as Bird of Paradise, Sea Kissed Petals and Caribbean Daiquiri. All of these fragrances include subtle hints of lemon oil, but as they are enhanced with a wide variety of top notes, each fragrance has a very different scent.
