All Female Ceremonies Team Take Centre Stage
A ceremony at the December 2024 celebrations marked an historic occasion during Lancaster University’s 60th anniversary year as, for the first time, an all-female ‘cast’ took ‘centre stage’ in the ceremonial roles.
All the key ceremonial positions of Master of Ceremonies (MC), Mace Bearer, two Halberdiers and two Marshals were taken
First UK-Australia joint international campus in Indonesia
The Deakin University Lancaster University Indonesia (DLI) campus was officially launched at an opening ceremony in Bandung, West Java, on February 26th 2025.
The landmark event celebrated the first UK-Australia joint international campus - a collaboration that opens new possibilities for transnational education and Indonesian students. It was attended by senior government and diplomatic representatives, university partners, education agents and education sector leaders.
Located in vibrant Bandung, the DLI campus represents an innovative trilateral education partnership.

Professor Terry Eagleton DLitt, internationally celebrated literary scholar and cultural theorist.
Sir Kevan Collins DLitt (Politics, 1992, Furness), knighted for his services to education.
Amanpal Bhutani LLD (MBA, 1999), CEO of GoDaddy and 20 years in technical, management and leadership roles.
Professor Sir Robin Grimes DSc, Foreign Secretary of The Royal Society and Chair of Energy Materials at Imperial College, London.
Yrsa Daley-Ward DLitt, award-winning writer and performance poet.
Dr Naveen Salins with the Chancellor the Rt Hon Alan Milburn
internationally renowned universities in a world-class learning environment, while living close to home.

Sarah Hall DLitt, the only author to have twice won both the BBC National Short Story Award and the Portico Prize for fiction.

John Curtin (Environmental Sciences, 1990, Fylde) former Executive Director of Local Operations, Environment Agency.
Lucy Briers (Independent Studies, 1988, Cartmel) Stage and screen actor.
Naveen Salins (PhD Palliative Care, 2021) Specialist in Palliative Care in India.
