IBS Journal catches up with Group Chairman and CEO of Path Solutions, Mohammed Kateeb, to chat about 2016 and what lies ahead

Path Solutions. The vendor, based in Kuwait, placed top of the IBS Intelligence Islamic Banking Sales League Table, the seventh year in a row. It successfully fended off challenges from both Oracle and Temenos, two firms expanding their spheres of influence into the Islamic banking world.

“2016 was a great year for Path Solutions strategically,” says Kateeb. “We have made great advancements with our core offering. It was a year of consolidation and improvement, with the upgrading of existing customers and the onboarding of new clients.” An upgrade to a new platform was very important over the past year, because the Islamic market is becoming a very competitive one on


t’s safe to say that 2016 was a good year for


the technology side. The transitional phases for existing customers – from older versions of the core software to new – have been smooth. Path has an “exciting pipeline” going into 2017, one full of upgrades and fresh implementations.


It also partnered with Microsoft for the creation of a new digital analytics platform, a deal which Kateeb says is working very well, enabling it to provide clients with an array of “very advanced features” that allow them to understand their customer base and company risk. “So on the solutions side, 2016 saw a lot of advancement, ahead of our competitors, on the technology side.”
