one of its oldest terminals, to meet the needs of modern travelers and revolu- tionize the guest experience. Built in the early 1960s, over time Terminal 1 has become less able to accommodate the millions of passengers that it handles each year. When fully completed in 2024,

Terminal 1 will elevate SFO’s standard of providing a world-class, environ- mentally friendly travel experience and is expected to meet or exceed the award-winning standards of Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 Boarding Area E. According to SFO, T1 is anticipated, at minimum, to receive an environ- mental LEED© Gold certification.

Companies is general contractor for the project. Perkins Eastman is project architect and SWA Group landscape architect. Phase 1, scheduled to open for patient care in mid-2020, includes a new modernized four- story, 260,000-square-foot hospital replacement building. Te new towers will house 114 private rooms, an expanded emergency department and 6 new operating/procedural suites. Special amenities and landscape features, such as rooftop gardens, balconies, and natural light in every patient room, will support a healing environment for patients and families.
