of Directors appointees SIR President M. Victoria Marx, MD, FSIR, has announced the slate of candidates selected by the SIR Nominating Committee to fill the open elected positions on the SIR Executive Council and the appointees for the open SIR Foundation Board positions. As required by the SIR bylaws, voting members have 60 days to review the slate of candidates for elected positions and decide whether to reserve approval of the candidates and to petition for the nomination and placement of alternative candidates on a mail ballot.

SIR Executive Council elected positions

• Matthew S. Johnson, MD, FSIR— SIR Secretary

• Mary Marcelle Costantino, MD— Private Practice Councilor

• Raymond W. Liu, MD, FSIR—Health Policy and Economics Division Councilor (reappointment: three- year term)

• Raj Pyne, MD—Member Services Division Councilor

In addition to the SIR Executive Council slate of elected positions, Filip Banovac, MD, FSIR, has been appointed SIR Treasurer. He will serve in this role for SIR, as well as for SIR Foundation, for a three-year term.

To accomplish a smooth transition in the management of the society from year to year, per the SIR bylaws, the secretary automatically becomes president-elect and the president-elect becomes president. Following the 2019 Annual Members’ Business Meeting, Laura Findeiss, MD, FSIR, will become president and Michael D. Dake, MD, FSIR, will become president-elect.
