Nine Elms is becoming a signifi cant new residential, cultural and business region. Its latest luxurious development, on the South Bank of the T ames, is on the site of what was formerly Christie’s Fine Art Storage warehouse. Grahame Anderson takes a closer look at T e Residence

a cross-stitch tapestry made by the artist, with a number of local people and organisations from Wandsworth also developing their own design. T e tapestry will be hung at Matt’s Gallery at T e Residence, in an exhibition called ‘By Your Own Hand’.

THE COMMUTE Travel links from T e Residence are excellent with Vauxhall station off ering underground and mainline services, but the extension of the Northern Line will bring two new stations even closer. One will be at Nine Elms, only a few feet away from T e Residence, and the other at Battersea Power Station, both targeted for completion in 2020. A number of bus routes run close by, as well as the river boat services from St George’s Wharf.
